About the Campaign:

My sweet friend Rachel is a saint!  I have never heard her utter a mean word about anyone, and she faces her trials like Rocky Balboa…. waiting for the next blow, but ready to bring it on! Rachel is the mother of 13 biological children and one precious grandbaby!  Her husband Russell recently was faced with a life-threatening condition where his brain had an anuerysm.  Rachel is currently trying to think of ways to support her family, as her husband will need months of therapy, and can not work.  HE IS LUCKY TO EVEN STILL BE HERE ON EARTH!

Rachel would never ask for a handout, and she has no idea that I am trying to help her prepare for the holidays.  This woman can do just about anything!  She sews, teaches Shakespear, loves theater, sings, homeschools her children, and is now preparing to going back to college so she can support her family.  Throughout this time, she has posted on facebook about prayer, gratitude, blessings, and how sacred the experience has been.  I think they were as close to heaven as a couple could be without experiencing death.

Russell has been through surgeries, has been able to be removed from a ventilator, and sedation. After weeks of hospital stay, he has been able to go home to his sweet family.  Progress with the brain, as you probably know, takes place in small increments.  This situation will not be resolved any time soon.

Meanwhile, with the holidays upon us, I want Rachel, Russell, and their children to be relieved of the stress that comes with the physical and financial strain of this ordeal.  Please take a moment and reach out to this family in need.   By helping them, we are living the words of Charles Dickens’ Tiny Tim. “God Bless Us, Everyone!”

I love the Kepner family! They are one of the most humble, and kindest families I know. Rachel is an angel, and anything I can do to help them this Christmas season brings me peace!
