About the Campaign:
The Global Grid for Learning, Public Benefit Corporation (www.GG4L.com) is proud to lead this 1 Million Devices fundraising campaign that aims to match corporations, foundations and individual philanthropists (including parents) with K-12 schools serving economically challenged communities, whose students are being forced to study remotely from home due to school closures caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Many of these students are not able to afford broadband connected access devices (PC’s, Laptops, Tablets or Smart Phones) that would enable them to learn remotely from home while being locked-down in their homes during their school closures. Many of the states have announced their plans to keep schools closed till the end of this academic year, as a minimum. As a result, these students are at risk of not being able to graduate this academic year unless we can insure equity and financial support by providing them with broadband-connected access devices. We can’t leave any student behind disconnected from their school!
1 Million Devices aims to raise $100,000,000 in cash and/or in-kind (by pledging to donate refurbished and/or surplus access devices) that would be ultimately used to fund the logistics of collecting, sanitizing, refurbishing and distributing these devices through the schools to their students that need them the most. For more information on this whole strategic initiative, please visit www.gg4l.com/1milliondevices
For any cash or in-kind donation that exceeds $1,000, the donor will receive a letter (coordinated through GG4L) from the recipient school to acknowledge their charitable giving. Donors may elect to name a school, school district and/or specific geographic region as a beneficiary of their donation in the form you fill out with your pledge and/or donation. If there is no preference, GG4L will insure to match the donor with the appropriate recipients.
