About the Campaign:
3 years ago, we moved back to Logan Utah. Ryan got his dream job at Utah State University. I got my dream job working at Castle Manor doing weddings. Our kids were doing great in school and making friends. It seemed that everything was going as good as it could. But as the stress of Ryan’s job grew so did his depression. A month ago, we tried to switch medications to see if that would help.
That change in medication brought on a very deep depression and suicidal thoughts. We have stopped and started a lot of medications since then with no positive effects. Ryan was hospitalized a few weeks later for concern about keeping him safe 24/7. I just couldn’t keep up with the constant worry. He came out for a week or so with a little improvement but then it quickly got worse. He attempted to end his pain and fade into nonexistence by taking a whole bottle of pills. I was not home when he did this but he told me the next morning. It was a miracle he had NO reaction to the pills! Not even an upset stomach or headache. He is back in the hospital this week. We have seen tender mercies from our Father in Heaven and amazing support from our Savior Jesus Christ. Family and friends have surrounded us with love and kindness.
If you know Ryan even a little bit this is so far out of character for him. We are working on finding the right medicine and sending him to a rehab center where he will get constant individual therapy and rebuild his skills to handle life’s pressures. The center is very expensive but we know that it will be worth it and that God has a plan for our family and we will become who he wants us to be through this process. We know God lives and loves all of his children. Thank you for your support, friendship and love.
